“Willpower” or the psychological science of self-control

Willpower is one of the most important attitudes and characteristics you need to have, to be successful in what you are doing or want to do.Super power
Probably you know some of those people, who get done everything. If they have an idea in there mind, they realize it.
They tell you, that they want to quit there job, open there own business, move to another city and so on…
And a few months later, you talk again and they inform you that they did it – and of course with success!
And you feel like a small idiot, still doing the same stuff each day, event though you had the idea before, to quit your job. To open a business, to travel more, to move somewhere else.

What makes you happy?

When we think about our life. Our inner desires, wishes and values and what we want to achieve finally – it always come back to happiness.

We may all have different plans and desires.
We want to buy a house for the time of retirement, travel or visit some specific places, aspire to a position or live a certain lifestyle.
But what is behind these dreams? What motivates us to aim it?
In the end, it’s mostly the ambition to be happy.

  • To buy a house is the intention to live a more peaceful life and don’t worry about money in times of retirement. Security may makes us relaxed. Relaxation is a good initial position for happiness.
  • To see new places, cultures and meet new people. Traveling is broaden up our mind. We learn more about life. The world becomes smaller and yourself richer. Or probably you just want to relax on the beach. But coming out of your small world and visit either inspiring new sides of life or the most beautiful places in the world, makes us happy.
  • If your intention is to live another lifestyle, you may not be happy yet with your current one. To much stress, pressure or a daily routined “hamster wheel lifestyle“. So your will is probably to change it into more relaxation, more quality, love and spending more time with your beloved ones.

It doesn’t matter which desires and intentions you have in life, in the end we all seeking for more happiness.

My wish was always to stay at the sunny side. I love the beach and sun and love to travel. So I made this to my lifestyle.
But even for me, I needed to prepare it for 1-2 years actively.
So thats why I want to share here with you how to start.

The four steps you have to work on. To change something and start your life, where you can be more happy.

1. Change your values (In my case: live with less luxury, enjoy the small moments, learn to love everybody and everything, feel home everywhere)
2. Change my habits (in my case: limit your belongings, learn and study every day for it)
3. Follow masters. Search for some „idols“, people, who already live that life, what you want to live. Follow them. Study them. What did they do for it? How could they became this characteristic? What are their values, habits, daily routines?
4. Stop dreaming and act. Now its time to make a plan and change it. If you start now continuously, you can achieve it quite soon.
Of course you have to be patience. But if I can do it, everyone can do it! 🙂

If you need help with it, contact me. Would love to provide you with infos and ideas or just sharing thoughts.

Finally here a video of my time with Terra nation as a beacher in Milos. Its our HAPPY beach version of Pharrel Williams.

Become happy. Feel happy. Be happy.

My LIVE YOUR LIFE Manifesto

I want to share with you my LIVE YOUR LIFE manifesto. Live Your Life Manifesto

Following each of these terms, helped me to live more happy and fulfilled.

LIVE NOW:

Be present in every moment you live. Don’t postpone things to the future (for example: when I earned enough money, I want to travel). Do it NOW.

INSPIRE YOURSELF:

Listen inside of you and just do things that inspire you. In which situations do you forget the time? What are you doing at these moments? Is it a passion? Than repeat it by doing this. It can become a big part of your life.

VOLUNTEER FREELY:

Start to help people, organizations, companies or friends. You want to learn something new? Go and ask for volunteering. You can see the need for help? Go and do it freely. In the system of Karma, there is always an action – if you are doing good things in live, good things will come back to you as well.

EAT HEALTHY:

Try to avoid fast food, sugar and meet. Eat more natural ingredients and slow food.  Eat more regional fruits and vegetables and cook or prepare your food by yourself – as far as it’s possible. After a while you will not just have more power,  even your inner beauty will rise and you set a basis for a long life.

YOGA DAILY:

Practicing Yoga everyday was making me more smooth and relaxed, but also it’s strengthen my muscles, body shape and rise my awareness and connection of the body, mind and soul. You don’t need to do and call it Yoga. But practicing on yourself. Do something for your body and mind. And do it consciously.

OFFER HELP:

Increase your Karma and help those who really need it. You will see that you not just feel better and do things in life that worth it, you will even get it back and receive support, when you need help. We are one community, so lets share. And never forget: Its all coming back to you!

USE CREATIVITY:

By using your creativity, your can highly express yourself. But most of the people doesn’t even know, that they are creative. You are! You just lost it in your daily life of regulations and processes, which are reasons to loose creativity. There are tons of ways to activate your creativity again. Just get started.

RELAX MORE:

Your life will win more on quality, when you start to slow down. Quality time instead of quantity time. You don’t need to be everywhere and do everything. Your body and mind is like a computer. Sometimes you need to shut it down, close it and restart it, to have the full power again. Otherwise it will overheat and overload. So take your time and relax.

LOVE ALWAYS:

To love doesn’t mean just to share your love with your partner or kids.  I mean to start loving always. Love the people around you, love the things you are doing, love each moment and share your love.  People will also share their love with you.  Always remember: We are all one.

INTERACT PASSIONATELY:

Every step you do, every thought you think, every word you say – do it with passion. If you don’t feel for it? Drop it! It’s not your passion. By becoming aware of your motivations you will shift your actions and interactions to those, which actuates you. If you don’t know yet, what your real passions are – start to follow your heart.

FORGIVE OTHERS:

We are all humans and making mistakes. So don’t be resentful. Forgive yourself and others. It has its reason, why those things happened. Take it as a learning. And if you think back, you will find something good in it. Everything in life is constantly changing. So don’t try to hold on things – especially not on bad moods and thoughts. Let it go and remind on the good moments.

EXERCISE FOREVER:

Never stop to learn or practice.  I call my life “the university and study of life”. You will always be a student of life. So take the chance and don’t miss to learn and figure out about it and what the world offers you. It will not just give you a better overview and understanding for your existence, you also become more happy and will stay young, but wise.

Are You A Stress junkie?

There is a type of people – and today it not less – who is yearning for actionism each day.
Typically these people are successful in their career – but are they really successful in life?!
In the beginning they aspire towards succeeded events, but later on they just running after actions.

People like that feel euphoric under physical stress and in combination with a rush of success and the desire to experience all the time new things, makes them unstoppable.

For those people a wellness-retreat is nothing else than an active sport power weekend, a chill-out evening at home means to work from home and not being outside anywhere else in the world.

They can do that for a while, but also they are not super mans and don’t have not a super man body. Indeed your body is amazing and can do a lot of things you probably don’t really know about. But you need to restore and have breaks. Your body needs to shut down the system – same as a computer. You need to empty the battery to filling it with new power.

Do you know these kind of people? Or probably you are one of these?
I you not sure, make your test here and check if you a part of the stress junkie gang.

    1. Do you have often problems with falling asleep?
    2. Are you reading or working, when you eat alone?
    3. Is it difficult for you to do nothing?
    4. Is you mobile phone always switched on, even if it’s not necessary?
    5. Do you like to work on weekends and holidays?
    6. Can you work everywhere and every time?
    7. Do you think, its hard to take holidays?
    8. Do you feel anxiety, when you think about retirement?
    9. Is it long time ago you met friends outside your job?
    10. Do you zap permanently though the channels, when you watch TV?

If you could answer more than 4 times the the questions with “Yes”, you should really thing about a better work/life-system. Because this speed limit will not last forever.

I know what I am walking about, because I am the same type and made my experience. With the age of 25 I had my first burn out. It took me minimum one year to generate from it. But so I came to Yoga. Today I won’t miss my yoga, meditation or just mental relaxing part of the day.  It’s so important and makes as  – long-term – even stronger and gives us more power.

Are you a stress junkie?

If you want to know how, just follow my blog. I will share with my experience and of other stress junkies, with useful tips that help you to guide you.

#17 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am fresh and energized for an new beautiful year: 2014.
I would follow my reading in Vedic astrology, it will be a year full of changes and happenings in my life!
We will see. But don’t put your whole life in the hands of your destiny.
We can work in this life with small steps to a greater life.

And New Year is a brilliant time to review the last year, analyze your lessons learned and set your goals for 2014.

1. Review 2013:
Write down a review of each month of 2013. Note your wins and improvements. (I would recommend to do it more detailed and categorize it in fields of work/finance, relationship/family, love & communication, health/fitness , personal growth)

2. Goals overview 2014
Set first your “Big 5” goals for 2014 and then break it down to your Top 5 goals for Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4. To achieve your big goals, its good to set short and longterm goals over the year.

3. Execution plan 2014
Lets brake it even more down and make it more detailed.
Create your execution plan, month by month, with key milestones and rewards for achieving it . This gives you overview of your plan and help to avoid any distractions.

I head a great morning run on the first day of the New Year. Probably one of my fittest New Years Eves ever.
Maybe Goa is not this party area that it was years before, but it’s still a party place.
On the beach during my run you could hear the bass booming of the different “after-hours“.
And during my sunny and lovely run at the beach, a man stopped me and offered me drugs!
…Goa’s party life is not completely dead.

# Lessons Learned:

The ocean is deeply connected to us and perfect for giving and receiving. In meditation or in ritual let go of an old stuff and throw it into the waves. They will wash and clean all of it away and clear your mind, thoughts and material energy opening space for new ones. (Indian bar tender, Goa)

What is a Yoga-pirate?

A Yoga-pirate -in my understanding- is a person, who is not following life below a given line.

He tries to get to the bottom of reality,
tries to experience on his own instead of following the opinions of others,
he is awake and aware whats going on in the world and want to change something – in his own way.

A Yoga-pirate is listening to his unconscious mind and following his heart.

Death is not a fear for him, life is his chance to improve.
He loves to explore new horizons, discover lonely islands and oceans
and he is always ready to capture a ship, when time is right.

He is fighting for justice and love on our planet Earth.
He loves the stillness, wilderness and mystic of the sea,
flows with dynamic, destiny and flexibility of the continuously blowing wind and would die for his treasure: Light and Love.

What’s the Yoga-pirate lifestyle about?

Yoga-pirates live mostly in big cities, but know how to take their time to escape once a while.
Yoga-pirates are likely self-employed, entrepreneurs, rebells and especially change makers.
Fighting for a better life – a better life for human beings, a better life for nature and mother earth, a better life for one-selves.

Start Doing Things You Love

Already in childhood we learned from our society and invironment what we have to do and what not.

Or sometimes we run in one direction without stopping, holding and review.
If this was really the right way, the way we WANT to go – not HAVE to go.

Occasionally its important  to stop. Look back. Listen inside your body. And follow your heart. Not “Have-to’s“.

If you follow your heart and just start doing things you love, that will give you the most power and the basis for a happier and easier life.
